"The opening statement and closing benediction bookend a career that deserves wider recognition. Smith may not possess the bombast of his more celebrated contemporaries, but his quiet mastery of mood and atmosphere marks him as a songwriter of considerable depth."
Indie Dock Music Blog 2025

"Smith's songwriting displays the kind of narrative sophistication that recalls the best of Nick Drake's introspection filtered through Ray Davies' observational wit."

About Me
Hi, I’m Andy
My journey in music started at an early age. I began playing Guitar at the age of 7, learning from my dad. I have also taught myself Piano, Bass Guitar and a little of bit of Drums(not mastered this yet) and I also record and produce music for myself and others.
I started in covers bands, notably in 1998, but only as a singer. 2003, I then started playing guitar as well as singing, with a band named Capone - who I would spend 13 years with, playing everything from cozy pubs to outdoor festivals and large arenas.
During this time we released a couple of EP’s and also it was during this time that Raincheck, Non Future Man and Living it Up were born.
2016 saw the formation of Howlin’ Haze, with our album ‘All That’s Real’ released. Notable tracks from this album that were released as singles are Tales of Yesterlife and The Cunning Linguist.
My first solo album was recorded and released in 2012, Rock n Roll Goal. This was followed in 2020 by The Equidistant Years and then to commemorate my 50th birthday, The Best Of Andy Smith, The Journey Man was released, 19 handpicked songs that showcase my musical career up to now.
Below is my back catalogue and release dates.
